“Dream more, learn more, do more, become more”
We hope you find this site informative, supportive, and reflective of the vibrant, inclusive community we nurture every day here. Whether you are a prospective parent or already part of our school family, we trust it will answer many of your questions and offer a glimpse into the heart of our school.
At Wallace Fields Junior School, we are deeply committed to creating a sense of belonging for every child. We believe that every pupil deserves to feel seen, valued, and celebrated for who they are. Inclusion is not just a principle—it is woven into the very fabric of our school culture. We work tirelessly to ensure that all children, including those with special educational needs and disabilities, are supported with care, expertise, and ambition. Our goal is to help every child thrive—academically, socially, and emotionally.
We are proud of our many achievements: our consistently strong academic results, our broad and balanced curriculum, and the joyful, respectful atmosphere that permeates our classrooms and playgrounds. Our dedicated staff team brings energy, creativity, and compassion to their work, ensuring that learning is stimulating, challenging, and fun for all.
As Ofsted noted in our most recent inspection:
“Pupils value the way everyone is welcomed and included at Wallace Fields Junior School. Pupils love coming to this school to see their friends and to learn new things together. They are engaged in lessons because they are cared for by a team of committed staff who work together very well. Happy pupils show high levels of respect for each other and for adults. Pupils care for and help one another, which builds on the strong support staff give to everyone. Pupils behave very well, and bullying is rare.”
Anna Champness, former Rosebery Head Girl, wrote the following about our school:
"I truly enjoyed being at Wallace Fields Junior School and look back with the fondest memories. The teachers went above and beyond to encourage curiosity and active learning in every lesson: we wrote short stories in English, did countless science experiments, learnt to play instruments together in music and were taught how to code. This made the move to secondary school so much easier, because I had developed a strong work ethic and a thirst for knowledge. Outside the classroom, I remember getting involved with loads of extracurricular opportunities (a variety of clubs, the school production, day trips, assemblies, concerts and more). But it was the legendary residential trips that we all looked forward to! I am so grateful for the time I spent at Wallace Fields Junior School; it set me up for the future in the best possible way."
We take great pride in our inclusive ethos and our proactive approach to meeting individual needs. Our SEND provision is robust, responsive, and personalised ensuring that every child receives the support they need to flourish. We work closely with families, specialists, and external agencies to provide tailored interventions and strategies that unlock each child’s potential.
Beyond the classroom, our pupils enjoy a rich array of opportunities—from residential trips in Years 4, 5, and 6 to sporting triumphs, musical performances, and artistic showcases across the county. These experiences help build confidence, friendships, and a lifelong love of learning.
We also value strong partnerships with parents and carers. Your voice matters, and your involvement enriches our school community. We offer streamed meetings, parental workshops, and flexible consultation formats to ensure accessibility for all. Our commitment to online safety is reflected in our participation in the National Online Safety programme, and we embed digital literacy and protection throughout our curriculum.
Our school is a place where enthusiasm, creativity, and high expectations thrive within a safe and nurturing environment. We are proud to be a school where every child is encouraged to be curious, courageous, and kind—and where every family is welcomed with warmth and respect.
If you would like to visit us, please check the website for tour dates. You will be shown around by our wonderful Year 6 prefects, and I look forward to meeting you personally. If you are deaf or hearing impaired, I am British Sign Language (BSL) Level 2 trained and happy to arrange a separate meeting to ensure communication is clear and comfortable.
Thank you for taking the time to explore our website.
We look forward to welcoming you into our inclusive and inspiring school community.
