I am delighted to share with you the outcome of our recent Ofsted inspection, which took place on 6th /7th May 2026.
The inspection judged Wallace Fields Junior School to be operating at a strong standard in all areas, with safeguarding also confirmed as meeting all requirements. This is an exceptional outcome and reflects the continued dedication and commitment of our entire school community.
The report highlights many strengths that we are immensely proud of. Inspectors recognised that:
- Pupils achieve very well, with outcomes consistently above national averages, particularly in reading, which is a notable strength of the school.
- Behaviour across the school is calm, respectful and highly positive, with pupils thriving in an environment built on strong relationships and clear expectations.
- Our curriculum is broad, ambitious and well taught, enabling pupils to build secure knowledge and apply it confidently across subjects.
- The school places inclusion at the heart of its work, ensuring every child feels valued, supported and able to succeed.
- Leaders and governors provide highly effective leadership and clear direction, continually refining and improving the school’s provision.
Inspectors also captured what makes our school special, noting that pupils feel “valued, listened to and confident to be themselves” and that they leave us as “confident and articulate learners who are very well prepared for the next stage of their education.”
We are particularly proud that the report recognises the strength of our school culture: a place where pupils feel safe, children demonstrate a strong sense of belonging and pride in their school which in turn is reflected in very high attendance and excellent academic and pastoral progress.
This outcome reflects a genuine team effort. I would like to thank our exceptional staff for their dedication and professionalism, our wonderful pupils for their positivity and commitment to learning, and you, our parents and carers, for your continued support and partnership. The report acknowledges the strong, trusting relationships we have with families, which play a vital role in the school’s success.
While we are extremely proud of this outcome, we are not complacent. The report recognises that leaders continue to refine and develop the school further, including strengthening our already strong reading culture and continue widening pupils’ experiences. We will build on these priorities as part of our ongoing commitment to providing the very best education for every child.
I encourage you to read the full report, which is available via the Ofsted website and below for your convenience.
Thank you once again for your continued support and for being such an important part of the Wallace Fields Junior School community.
