The upper school choir enjoyed a fantastic day of singing at the Epsom College music festival on Tuesday run by Mr Wickham, Assistant Director of Music. After some dynamic warming up, the children worked on learning six songs from Musicals old and new. They had to sing as a range of characters and with encouragement gradually started to get into role, enjoying the two part interplay. Lunch as always was delicious and the glorious sunshine meant that the children could enjoy a lovely spell of free time on the luscious grassy field rolling down the bank, playing IT and making up dance routines! After lunch the children were treated to a concert by some of the Epsom College choral competition winners. When the two soloists were singing you could have heard a pin drop the whole hall was listening so intently! The acapella groups were just as impressive. The day ended with a concert for parents where all the hard work paid off - it was a wonderful performance especially considering it was achieved in just one day! Wallace fields pupils were a real credit to the school. We were the biggest choir attending by far, but the children's behaviour was impeccable and I was exceedingly proud of every one of them!
